Matt was contracted to reconstruct a deck on the front of our house that did not meet Wellington City Council Code Compliance Certificate requirements. Matt had just started his company, Hammer IT, and was looking for work and we were in need of a carpenter when another builder was suddenly unable to meet the deadline we required as we were putting the house on the market. Matt came recommended by a friend of a family member who worked in the construction sector.
Matt was very approachable and was quick to respond to our query. He was able to meet our deadline despite the wettest winter in Wellington for many years. He submitted details of the work required and provided quotes before work commenced.
His work included organising visits and liaising with WCC inspectors to ensure the deck met Code of Compliance requirements,Matt organised all work onsite including the demolition and removal of most of the existingstructure, the ordering of timber and other supplies as well as all building work utilising supplieddesigns. He was neat and tidy in his work and ensured the job site was secure and safe at the end of: each day.
He kept us informed on a daily basis of progress or when he was unable to come to thesite.because of the weather. He was prompt at replying to requests and provided reliable and- trustworthy information.We were pleased to have Matt working for us and are thrilled with the finished deck.
